Zimmerit was a ceramic paste-like coating used on WWII mid and late-war German armour. It was used to produce a hard layer covering the metal armor of the vehicle, providing enough separation that magnetically attached antitank mines would fail to stick to the vehicle. Somewhat ironically, Germany was the only country to use magnetic anti-tank mines in numbers during WWII. Zimmerit was often left off late-war vehicles due to the unfounded concern that it could catch fire when hit.

Our 1/16 scale ‘Waffle’ Zimmerit stamp applicator allows the modeller to accurately replicate the unique pattern often seen on Sturmgeschütz Stug III. It ac either be used freehand, or the 3mm stalk allows it to be attached to most larger pin-vices such as Tamiya or Godhands.

DISCLAIMER - Parts are manufactured from a UV curing resin. Cyanoacrylate (CA) or “Super Glue” recommended for bonding to rigid PS/ABS or other resin parts. UV curing resins can be an irritant. Always use the appropriate safety gear when handing or modifying. Parts are supplied still attached to the supports/raft. Care must be taken when removing supports. 3D printing IS NOT injection molding! Slight imperfections and the visible appearance of 'layer lines' in places is perfectly normal and not a defect. ‘Tough’ grade resin parts can damage fine bladed side cutters - use at own risk.
